REGIONAL CLASSES

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE REGIONAL CLASSES IN THE ETHNOCENTRE OF THE KROSNO REGION

The regional education events at the Ethnocentre comprise classes organised throughout the year and in specific seasons. During the classes, we explore relics of traditional heritage, such as old everyday items or natural objects used in the past. We also use traditional texts, such as games, songs, proverbs and samples of local dialects which make up lesson scenarios engaging all the participants. The classes take place in selected areas of the Ethnocentre which create an authentic atmosphere and introduce participants to the magical world of tradition.

The classes hosted in the Ethnocentre allow the participants to explore various aspects of regional heritage.

During the educational event "Tale intertwined with linen – secrets of the traditional handicraft" the participants can learn about the intricacies of the old craft and about the history of linen industry in Krosno.

For those into old local tales, we have the educational event entitled "The world of fairy tales and legends from the Krosno region". During the class the group takes a tour of the Ethnocentre and learns about the wealth of our storytelling traditions. This is an excellent opportunity to take a trip into the magical world of stories and discover the mysteries of our region, or to take part in traditional handicraft workshops.

Those into good food can enjoy the educational event "Making the bread rise – secrets of Pogórzanie cuisine". The participants can learn the traditional recipes and cooking methods used years ago by Pogórzanie ethnographic group. They can also get the taste of authentic dishes prepared following old recipes, for instance the traditional Podkarpackie style Proziak soda bread.

These educational events can be organised as a short class (duration of 1 hour 15 minutes) or an extended class (2 hours). During a short class the participants meet with the instructor who presents the various aspects of the specific subject matter. During the extended event, in addition to the short class, students take part respectively in handicraft workshop, cooking workshop or singing workshop.

The regional classes are designed for school age children and take place from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organised groups are welcome to use our educational options and discover the fascinating heritage of our region. We look forward to receiving your requests for booking!

• class with a duration of 1 hour 15 minutes or 2 hours – depending on the type selected,
• the ticket covers a tour and materials necessary for the participant of the selected type of class.
